The 2021 Cadbury Community Survey sampled over 1,100 people across the country and Limerick’s sense of community spirit shone through the results.
73% of the Limerick public have volunteered with a charity, club or community group and 62% have recently checked in with a neighbour or family member.
Nationally, 98% of Irish people have helped others in some way over the past year – from calling to check on a family member or friend, or an elderly neighbour, to food shopping for someone cocooning.

A survey conducted by Cadbury Ireland to assess good deeds during the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed that Kerry is the kindest county in Ireland.
During a difficult year, good deeds and acts of kindness have been needed more than ever. In an attempt to find out how Irish people have been helping each other out, Kerry has been named Ireland’s kindest county.
The survey, conducted by chocolate manufacturers Cadbury Ireland, asked over 1,000 people about the good deeds they have done to help out their community over the past year.

Even though it has been a tough year for so many, in times of darkness many communities around Ireland have focused on bringing light to their towns and cities.
New research from
Cadbury Ireland shows a whopping 98% of us have helped others in the last year.
That includes people calling to check on a family member or friend or an elderly neighbour, to doing the food shopping for someone cocooning.

This past year has felt so isolating at times, but we ve continued to be a friendly bunch on the streets of Ireland with 79% of us often say hello to strangers while passing.
