Home is where the heart is, and these days, it s where a lot of work gets done too. That is certainly the case for Alexis Scheer and Dan Ryan. And it s quite an example of just how much can be accomplished within a small household space.
How small, you ask? We’ve been in our 400-square-foot studio together since March, and both of us being creatives, we’ve actually done some pretty interesting things, said Ryan from their Brookline mini-domicile. Alexis and I are both multi-hyphenates, he continued. I am a conductor/composer/singer, and Alexis is a writer/actor/producer.

Mattland Riley will be getting a chance to suit up with his home province’s CFL team in 2021.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Monday they had signed the Melfort product to a contract. The Roughriders also announced the re-signing of defensive back L.J. McCray, who could have become a free agent Feb. 9.
Riley, who was a member of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies’ offensive line, was taken seventh overall in the first round of the 2020 CFL draft.
Riley spent four seasons with the Huskies. He was a two-time Canada West all-star and was a U Sports first-team all-Canadian in 2019. He also played for Team West in the U Sports East-West Bowl in 2018.

Michele Coble of Lincolnton has a strong opinion about the Jan. 6 mob riot at the U.S. Capitol.
“I think that’s the craziest thing I have ever seen - to storm the Capitol,” she said. “And I’m really thinking you really didn’t accomplish nothing but you stirred up a whole lot of nothing just over the election.”
