LPE employs about 70 local staff from its headquarters in the new Maroochydore CBD. The company has grown from a small start-up in 2014 to supplying electricity to about 40,000 residential and business customers across Queensland. LPE chief executive Damien Glanville said the ASX-listed company was dedicated to supporting businesses in the region, so sponsoring the Business Awards was a natural fit. The awards are about celebrating hard work, effort, teamwork and innovation - and we are thrilled to be supporting all the businesses involved this year, he said. It was a weekend of impressive proposals, with another taking place at SEALIFE s shark dive experience. Brisbane couple Stacey Blume and Katie Stevens became engaged after the surprise underwater proposal. Ms Stevens said she thought they were going to Mooloolaba for a barbecue when Ms Blume told her of the first of three surprises for the day. She told me we weren t going to the barbecue and that we were actually going to SEALIFE, Ms Stevens said. Stacey Blume proposed to Katie Stevens during a shark dive at SEALIFE Mooloolaba. It wasn t until they arrived that Ms Stevens found out they were going to dive with sharks at the Mooloolaba aquarium.
