South Korea reported 619 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, staying in the six hundred range for the third straight day.
Mondays usually see lower numbers due to fewer tests done over the weekend, but these 619 cases are the most recorded on a Monday in over four months.
All but 22 were locally transmitted with regions outside the capital area accounting for over forty percent.
Cluster infections have broken out at a church in Seoul and a nursing home and furniture factory in Gyeonggi-do Province.
In response to outbreaks at densely packed restaurants, the Seoul Metropolitan Government has urged owners to space tables out by a meter or more.
Gangwon-do Province saw the worst of the weather, with blizzards on Monday.

Yeon-seung how are things over there? Well Mark, the snow in Gangwon-do province has thinned down a bit but it s still falling in some areas. Last night s snow piled up to almost a meter high in places causing traffic problems.
Just last night, hundreds of cars were stuck on the highways.
And, in Inje County, a pine tree fell across the road, after being weighed down by the snow last night.
Work is underway to reopen roads in Gangwon-do Province, but the region s mountainous landscape makes it hard for the snow-clearers to reach some areas.
