KPR launches book club with Ladybird, Collected | The University of Kansas

LAWRENCE – Kansas Public Radio is launching its first book club. The KPR Presents Book Club will begin the series with Ladybird, Collected by local Lawrence author and diner owner Meg Heriford.   Ladybird, Collected is a collection of essays building connections with the diners who have walked in and out of Ladybird Diner’s doors over the years. Since the pandemic began in March 2020, Heriford has transformed Ladybird into a community kitchen providing free lunches to anyone in need. KPR Presents host Kaye McIntyre covers a variety of books by Kansas and international authors during her weekly program. She has been involved in book clubs throughout her adult life and thought KPR listeners and members would be the perfect group for a book club.
