Finland: Neste to enhance recycling at its station with new pilot project Only 43% of Finns regularly sort waste generated on the road, according to a recent survey. Last update: © Neste Neste and Kesko Group want to support circular economy by launching a pilot project that enhances recycling practices. The Finnish retailer will install recycling stations at its sites including a box for used cooking oil, which will be used to produce renewable diesel. The sorting facilities will be significantly increased as they aim to raise the recycling rate of waste generated at the station to almost 80%. According to a survey of 1,000 Finns commissioned by the K Group, Neste and Lassila & Tikanoja, sorting household waste is a daily routine for most people. In contrast, the sorting of waste generated on the road is much less regular. The main challenge is perceived to be the limited possibilities for sorting waste on the road.
