After months of delays, the first block of the Broughton Streetscape project is now back open, but store owners said it s still not business as usual. It really has been awful being the guinea pig somewhat of this entire project, said Ashley Brooks, owner of Pounce Cat Café.
Asst. City Manager for the City of Savannah, Heath Lloyd, said the project team is taking what they learned in the first block and applying it as they move forward. We finished the first block, and quite candidly, it went pretty bad. Now, what I want to do is finish the second block and really get a feel for what s the reality, said Lloyd.
