Driver A PORSCHE driver has been fined more than £1,000 after he was caught doing 106mph on the M62. At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Leicester Wordsworth, aged 64, of Laburnum Grove, Prestwich, admitted committing the offence on April 21 last year. He was fined £1,075 plus £192 in costs and charges and six penalty points were added to his licence. MAGISTRATES have fined driver Paul Bott, aged 51, of Dumers Lane, Radcliffe, after he admitted doing 96mph on the M62 at Rochdale on November 14. Bott had six points added to his driving licence and was fined £293 plus £119 in costs and charges. A MAN caught driving a Fiat Bravo on Huntley Mount Road, Bury on December 1 last year without a licence or insurance has been fined £162 by Wigan magistrates. Mahdi Rabbi, aged 45, of Kestrel Drive, Bury, pleaded guilty to committing the offences when he appeared before Wigan magistrates. He was also ordered to pay £119 in costs and charges.

A young man died after suffering severe burns across 92 per cent of his body as he tried to escape a raging flat fire.
Yussuf Abdirahman Diriye, 22, originally from Somalia, was partially sighted. He had been out drinking with his friends before the blaze at his home on Kestrel Drive, Bury, on October 5.
