Crockett Co. seniors receive CPR education equipment at school STAFF REPORTS It was still an hour or two before lunch on Wednesday, but the cafeteria at Crockett County High School had a large number of senior students and a few faculty members milling around, taking pictures and having conversations. Among them were also representatives from the American Heart Association of West Tennessee and Mark Taylor, one of the owners of Master Medical Equipment. The students were checking out new educational equipment gifted to them from Master Medical Equipment. “This is part of our efforts to make sure the students of West Tennessee are fully educated on CPR and able to save a life if they’re needed to at a moment’s notice,” said Christy Futrell, the regional director for AHA West Tennessee.

Tiffany McCallister shared a video on Facebook, showing Marshall Police Officer Kevin Ward and others saving a dog that fell into the frozen pond. McCallister saw the dog and called the sheriff and police departments for help.  Chris Redding, a man who lived a small ways away from the park, got his canoe and placed in on the lake in an attempt to save the dog with police.

Suspected burglar charged after restaurant broken into in Rochester  |  A suspected burglar has been charged after a restaurant was broken into in Rochester. Kevin Ward, 45, of no fixed address, has been charged with burglary following the incident which happened in the High Street just after midnight on February 16. Ward appeared in court today. Stock photo During the burglary, the front door had been forced in and cash was stolen along with electronic items and alcohol. Ward was also charged with theft from a shop which happened at a store in Frindsbury Road, Rochester, on the afternoon of February 19. He has additionally been charged with vehicle interference following a report that a man was seen attempting to get into a vehicle parked in Grange Road, Rochester, at around 1.40am on February 18.
