WTC webinar to address National Tire Safety Week issues

DIAMOND BAR, Calif. The Wheel & Tire Council (WTC) of the Specialty Equipment Market Association will conduct a webinar May 19 on National Tire Safety Week, featuring a pair of industry experts discussing ways dealers can educate customers about tire care, safety and challenges related to tires.
The webinar, set for 3 p.m. EDT on the 19th, is designed to help underscore the importance of National Tire Safety Week, the annual consumer tire safety awareness campaign conducted by the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association. It s scheduled for June 28 through July 4 under the theme: Do Your Part. Know Your Roll.

TIA to hold in-person and online CTS Classes in 2021

BOWIE, Md. The Tire Industry Association (TIA) will offer two 400-level Commercial Tire Service (CTS) instructor training and certification classes in early 2021.
The virtual training class will be held Jan. 26-29. The in-person class in Tampa, Fla. originally scheduled for December 2020 will be Feb. 2-5. The reason for this change is to avoid what happened in 2020 with in-person classes having to be canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kevin Rohlwing, TIA senior vice president of training, said. This is a step to ensure that we can provide training to everyone who wants it, whether that s in-person or online.
