TUCSON, Ariz., Feb. 26, 2021 /PRNewswire/ The Internal Revenue Service is implementing the 8,000 page 2021 Covid-19 CARES Act that was rushed out by Congress on December 21, 2021. Buried in the bill is a great financial relief package for U.S. small businesses – the 2021 CARES Act Employee Retention Tax Credits (ERC).
The 2021 CARES Act ERC provides small businesses and organizations payments up to 70% or $14,000 of an employee s wages for retaining employees through the first half of 2021. To be eligible for the 2021 Employee Retention Tax Credit, employers have to demonstrate that they incurred at least a 20% decline in gross receipts compared to 2020. Small businesses, non-profit organizations, churches and schools up to 500 employees are eligible.
