Former MAC DPOY Treshaun Hayward transfers to Arizona
The Western Michigan tackling machine has his sights set on the wild west.

The transfer portal gains increasing utilization year after year. Following four seasons at Western Michigan, inside linebacker Treshaun Hayward has made the complete journey through the portal.
Despite completing his senior year in December, Hayward will have another go-around with senior status in 2021 due to the NCAA extending eligibility for all 2020 fall athletes. The former Bronco linebacker will complete his additional season out west in Tucson, where he plans to suit up for the Arizona Wildcats as a graduate student athlete.

Arizona has landed its most successful transfer player of the off-season. Linebacker from Western Michigan Treshaun Hayward leave that program to go west and play for the Wildcats, he announced Monday.
“I started my track and field studies when I was 17 with one goal in mind,” Hayward said in one Twitter post announcing his decision. “Since then I have grown as a student athlete and person. I want to thank the coaches at WMU for giving me the opportunity to play college football. … I will now become a graduate student athlete at the University of Arizona! “

The 2020 college football season wasn’t even certain to happen. Yet, it ended up being an opportunity years in the making.
Prior to September, UTSA free safety Antonio Parks last started a football game in the fall of 2014 at East St. John High School in Louisiana. What could have been the final go-around is just the start of Parks’ promising football career.
After a successful 2020 as the Roadrunners’ starting safety, Parks will opt in for the extra year of eligibility granted to all NCAA fall athletes and return to the program for a second senior season.

Having already secured the services of multiple former position coaches from Nick Saban’s staff at Alabama, new Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian pulled off yet another coup on Thursday afternoon, hiring former Crimson Tide assistant and top recruiter Jeff Banks as the team’s assistant head coach, special-teams coordinator, and tight ends coach.
Banks previously served as the special-teams coordinator and tight ends coach under Saban from 2018 until last week, when he helped Alabama win their sixth national championship in 12 seasons.
