Two workers were killed Wednesday at a construction site in downtown Boston after they were hit by a truck and knocked into a hole in the road, a grisly accident that horrified onlookers and left grief-stricken relatives crying out for answers.

FIRST RESPONDERS RUSHED IN, EXPECTING A TECHNICAL RESCUE, BUT THE MEN COULD NOT BE SAVED. ATLANTIC COAST WATER AND SEWER TRUCKS LINED UP NEAR THE CONSTRUCTION SITE THAT TURNED INTO A FATAL TRENCH INCIDENT OUTSIDE OF THE HAIR SALON. THEY WERE STANDING ON TOP, AND THE TRUCK BACKED UP BY ACCIDENT AND HIT HIM AND THEY FELL IN THE HOLE. THAT’S WHAT HAPPENED.
