Question: What has been done with the Prisma Health medical vans that Greenville County Council gave money to? They were supposed to travel about to give vaccines to people in the county who could not get to the places giving the COVID-19 shots. What’s the deal?
Answer: The vans are in action, according to Dr. Kerry Sease, Prisma s medical director for accountable communities.
Sease said it took a while for the three vans to be delivered because they had to be custom-built, but they have been in use since early this year.
Right now, Prisma Health is operating two mobile sites a week, mostly due to vaccine availability. In May, Sease said, there will be three mobile sites per week.
