Dover Doins: Red Sox heading south means spring is near

Dover Doins: Red Sox heading south means spring is near Ron Cole Today, while scraping up ice and snow from my driveway, I began an annual ritual, singing along with Terry Cashman’s opus: “Talkin’ Baseball”-  a paean to America’s game mentioning some of that game’s greatest from “Willie, Mickey and the Duke” to Jackie. One of the things I love most about Doins is the opportunity we have to spread good news and cheer. Something that happens at this time annually is the exit from Boston of the Red Sox “truck.” This year the unofficial holiday for the Fenway faithful took place on the Feb. 8 as it carried 20,400 baseballs, 1,100 bats, 200 batting gloves, 200 batting helmets, 320 batting practice tops, 160 white game jerseys, 300 pairs of pants, 400 T-shirts, 400 pairs of sox, 20 cases of bubble gum and 60 cases of sunflower seeds plus a myriad of other necessary items for the veterans and rookies of our olde town team.

Seacoast Steps Up To Support Red s Good Vibes Food Truck

The pandemic has created some really difficult circumstances, it s true, but in some cases, it birthed an opportunity and a dream come true for three Seacoast siblings. According to an article in the Union Leader, Caitlin McGrath-Levesque, Meghan McGrath and Michael DuPont founded Red s Good Vibes in March of 2020, right when the pandemic hit hard in honor and inspired by their brother, Robert Red McGrath who died suddenly in 2017. Red s Good Vibes operated out of a warehouse in Greenland for almost a year and they delivered groceries to 80 & 100 families per week to the Seacoast area, the Union Leader report states.  All families need to do is to call (603-312-5045) and let them know how many people in the family and where you would like the food delivered.

10 to Watch winners support Seacoast organizations of their choice

Katelyn Kwoka: Seacoast Repertory Theatre I would like to support the Seacoast Rep. I am on the Board of Trustees because I believe the arts are an integral part of any community. In addition to the main stage programs, the Rep supports the next generation of theater professionals with PAPA and the new Sol Series has been a real leader in lifting up BIPOC (Black, indigenous and people of color) voices and stories. Allison Dudas: Cross Roads House I chose Cross Roads House because of their devotion to people and families on the Seacoast. They offer a significant amount of resources to the people they serve, helping them enter back into stable housing. The Seacoast is lucky to have Cross Roads House!

Red s Good Vibes food truck to serve free meals on the Seacoast

Red’s Good Vibes food truck to serve free meals on the Seacoast By Angeljean Chiaramida Losing a brother is devastating, but three siblings are turning the tragedy into a celebration of serving others, as they know their brother would have wanted. The McGrath sisters, Caitlin and Meghan, along with their brother Michael Dupont were desolate when their youngest brother, Robert, was taken from them in the fall of 2017 at only 29. There were tears and grief, of course, but soon a sense of purpose took hold, a desire to bring to fruition their brother’s long-held aspirations. “He was 6-foot-1 and had red hair, so we called him Red,” said Caitlin McGrath-Levesque, the daughter of Robert and Judith McGrath of Connecticut. “We are a super close family; we do everything together. When Red died, we were searching for a way to merge his dreams and our need to honor him. ”
