Rapid COVID Tests Coming to Local Businesses | 99 1 FM CKXS

May 11, 2021   The Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce is working with upper levels of government to provide rapid COVID-19 tests to local businesses. The Rapid Screening Initiative is free for all small and medium sized businesses in the municipality with 150 employees or less, whether they are members of the Chamber or not. The goal is to identify asymptomatic cases in the workplace that might otherwise be missed and help to curb the spread of the virus through the community. “Chambers of commerce and boards of trade have been indispensable resources in their communities since the onset of the COVID-19 crisis,” Gail Hundt, President of the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce says. “Public health and the health of our economy are interdependent. That is why our chamber is proud to distribute rapid tests to businesses in Chatham-Kent. We hope that through this program, we will be able to curb the spread and reopen our local economy safely and in a timely fashion.”
