Columbus police file arrest warrant for suspect in Northeast Side apartment shooting
Columbus homicide detectives are asking for the public s help in finding a 23-year-old man accused of killing one man and wounding another in a shooting outside a Northeast Side apartment complex.
Nasear Smith, 23, of South Linden, has been charged with murder in Franklin County Municipal Court in connection with the shooting death early Monday morning of 21-year-old Derek Hoston, of the Northeast Side.
Police were called to the 1700 block of Kenmore Avenue around 12:35 a.m. on a report of a shooting. Officers stopped a car leaving the area and found a 23-year-old man inside with a gunshot wound.

May 4, 4:20 a.m. Mark E. Davis, 47, 4327 Southern Blvd., Youngstown, was arrested on a Bazetta Township warrant for possession of drug abuse instruments and was cited on a charge of possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on Southern Boulevard.
3:01 a.m. Thomas J. Gallison, 25, 116 N. Leavitt Road, Leavittsburg, was arrested on a charge of operating a vehicle while impaired and was cited for failure to control following a traffic stop on a vehicle with a driver sleeping behind the wheel at a traffic light on Southern Boulevard.
May 3, 11:03 p.m. A 15-year-old Braddock, Pa., girl was arrested on a charge of unruly juvenile following a call to Red Roof Inn, 1051 Tiffany Blvd. regarding a runaway juvenile.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) â A Buffalo man was indicted on attempted murder charges Monday.
The Erie County District Attorney s Office says 26-year-old Shyheim C. Rodriguez, also known as âHugo, is accused of shooting the same victim in two separate incidents. Rodriguez faces the following charges:
Two counts of attempted murder in the second degree
One count of assault in the first degree
One count of assault in the second degree
Two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree

BUFFALO, N.Y. A 26-year-old Buffalo man was virtually arraigned Monday for allegedly shooting the same man on two different occasions.
The Erie County District Attorney s Office says Shyheim Rodriguez, also known as “Hugo,” was indicted on two counts of attempted murder in the second degree, one count of assault in the first degree, one count of assault in the second degree, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. All are felony charges.
According to Erie County District Attorney John Flynn, Rodriguez allegedly shot a man in the hand on December 8, 2020 at the victim s apartment on Kenmore Avenue, with the intent to cause his death.
