Doctors Discuss Vaccine Concerns, Say It s Safer For 12 And Older

By: William Blanchette TULSA, Oklahoma - Kids 12 and older can now get the Pfizer vaccine, but some parents fear possible long-term side effects. The Oklahoma State Medical Association President, Dr. Mary Clarke said widespread vaccination is a critical tool in ending the pandemic.  “It can damage them long-term, like for their future,” parent, Stephanie Meadows said. “I would be open to getting the shot for them,” parent, Kenneth Kelley said. There are mixed opinions from parents about kids getting the vaccine. However, Dr. Clarke said the vaccine is safe for kids 12 and older. “We have a large number of children who have done very well with this vaccine,” Dr. Clarke said.

Carmichaels man charged in stabbing

A Carmichaels man is in custody facing accusations he stabbed a man Tuesday night in his apartment. Borough police charged the suspect, Carl Grimm, 45, of 103 W. Greene St., with attempted manslaughter and related offenses in the stabbing of Kenneth Kelley, court records show. Police said officers found Kelley in stable condition about 8 p.m. in the Circle K, 202 W. George St., where he held paper towels against his left rib cage. An officer applied pressure to the wound until Kelley went to Uniontown Hospital. Grimm allegedly told police he stabbed Kelley because he made unwanted sexual advances while they were drinking and sitting on a couch.
