(KFVS) - Authorities canceled a missing persons alert for are a father and son. As of 2:32 p.m., the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the alert was canceled. The Dunklin County Sheriff’s Department confirmed they were both found safe.

(KAIT) - When a neighbor reportedly opened fire on police, a Missouri dad dashed to protect his son. The alleged officer-involved shooting happened Thursday on East Main Street in Steele. Police Chief Billy Joe Stanfield said Howard Covie Underwood, 41, of Kennett and two officers exchanged gunfire. Neither the officers nor Underwood was injured, Stanfield said. Justin Becker, a Steele resident, was at home when he heard the first shots fired.

With the new alignments and reduction of divisions from four to two, Kennett found itself in Division I, up against teams such as Concord and Keene, as well as traditional rivals Hanover, Kingswood and Souhegan among others.

(Photo by Joshua Spaulding) ( click for larger version) March 10, 2021CONWAY The Division III hockey quarterfinal battle at the Ham Arena in Conway on Saturday was a battle worthy of playoff hockey, as the Kennett Eagles rallied from an early deficit to knock off the Belmont-Gilford Bulldogs by a 4-2 score, advancing Kennett to the Division III semifinals. The game saw the visitors jump out to a 1-0 lead after one quarter before Kennett scored three goals in the second quarter to take the lead and never look back. The Eagles were coming off a bye in the first round, which meant 10 days off, while the Bulldogs beat their Laconia rinkmates, Laconia-Winnisquam-Inter-Lakes earlier in the week.
