Homelessness in Tallahassee: City Walk matters, now more than ever

City Walk a 24-hour shelter While I am proud to say our church houses the homeless on cold nights, City Walk houses them 24 hours a day. Consequently, some residents have complained about loitering, littering, excessive noise, public safety and other issues. On March 8, City Walk’s application to the Development Review Committee was denied. City staff feels the character of the neighborhood has been compromised. Despite the scorn of some, I choose to believe we are a compassionate community. Many of us realize that were it not for the grace of God, we could be homeless, too. While the neighborhood’s issues are valid, Pastor Renee and her staff have worked tirelessly to rectify them, realizing the difficulty that comes with serving such a demographic.

A jury found Christina Greer guilty of three counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child, six counts of felony child abuse, as well as two counts of witness tampering, according to Fox News. Greer is guilty of grooming daughters friends aged 12 and 13. She was found innocent on 11 other charges, the report added. Christina Greer, 38, was found guilty for having sex with pre-teen and teen boys.
