“As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, senior citizens living in rural Clarke, Jasper and Kemper Counties have few resources for fresh produce while facing food insecurity rates ranging from 18.5% to 22.1%,” said Kelly Mott, Director of External Affairs of Mississippi Food Network. “Throughout our response to this health and economic crisis, mobile food pantries have become a critical solution to helping us reach our neighbors in need. NWS Meteorologists are carefully watching a pivot that has developed in the line of storms over Noxubee and Kemper Counties in eastern Mississippi.
This potentially dangerous storm will enter northern Sumter and southern Pickens Counties shortly. This is the northern extent of the instability boundary and also some higher low-level shear, and there is some possibility that a tornado could form here.
Be ready to go into your safe place immediately if a warning is issued.
