The new Public Safety Campus in Fayetteville officially broke ground this morning. The campus will house a new fire station and police headquarters off Deane and Porter roads. “I’ve looked forward to this moment for a long time,” said Fayetteville Mayor Lioneld Jordan.“We are just so excited, so blessed, and appreciative that our community continues to support us, to give us the confidence that we need to do our jobs,” said Fayetteville Chief of police Mike Reynolds.Reynolds said the new police headquarters will meet the needs of the community for the next century. “We are going to be highly visible, highly accessible and a highly welcoming facility,” said Reynolds.The campus is right near highway ramp 65 which will help response times in the city.
