I have just completed the most humbling short-break holiday of my lifetime. And I commend the destination county in England to anyone in East Anglia for a visit and stay.
I was born in Maidstone, Kent and spent my first five days there. Now, 80 years on, I have just had another five days of life in Kent – and oh, what an experience.
We were viewing and walking this spectacular Garden of England with beautiful seaside views, talking with friendly folk, a cosmopolitan mix of London-like hospitality and tasting very Kentish fish dishes, sometimes pricey – but delicious. And so much more.
Seafood and scenery make Kent the perfect UK destination

Conservative wind turbine design lifetime limits are a costly distraction from the potential of offshore wind projects to continue to help meet decarbonisation targets, K2 Management said, calling on the offshore wind industry to be better aligned in project timelines and equipment lifecycles.
As the latest offshore wind leasing rounds propose a 60-year project lifespan, almost three-times the approved turbine design lifetime, addressing equipment lifecycles is of utmost importance, according to the engineering and project management consultancy.
Limitations on wind turbine design lifetimes are hampering efforts to manage costs in asset lifecycles, reducing the effectiveness of long-term decision making and disrupting the effectiveness of offshore wind energy in low carbon power generation, K2 Management said.
