SMC opens Skyway Stage 3 Quirino southbound exit

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 24) Conglomerate San Miguel Corp. said on Monday it opened the southbound Quirino exit of the Skyway Stage 3 elevated expressway to Class-1 vehicles.
In a statement, the company said the motoring public coming from Balitantawak and Quezon Ave. can now reach Manila in 20 minutes, compared to 1.5 hours using the major streets. The opening of the Quirino southbound exit will greatly improve accessibility from Quezon City and Manila. With more private vehicles diverted to Skyway Stage 3 on their way back from NLEX, or coming from Quezon Ave., to Manila, traffic on our major public roads as well as on streets usually utilized as short cuts or alternate routes , will be a thing of the past, SMC president and CEO Ramon S. Ang said in the statement.

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 11) Conglomerate San Miguel Corp. says it has started regaining its momentum after witnessing solid financial performance in the second half of 2020 despite the country s ongoing battle against the pandemic.
Net profit in July to December period reached ₱25.9 billion, seven times better than the first half and a 15% improvement from the same period in 2019, the group noted in a statement on Thursday.
However, net income in 2020 reached ₱21.9 billion, a big drop from the ₱48.6 billion it recorded a year earlier, as business operations took a major hit from strict quarantine controls.
Despite weaker 2020 earnings, SMC president and chief operating officer Ramon S. Ang said recovery signs were evident since the start of the second semester.
