A man who was preparing for an Ultra Marathon near Mt. St. Helens died in a fall.
25-year-old Brian Yang, a 1st Lieutenant from Joint Base Lewis McCord, was reported missing after going to the Mt. St. Helens area to train for an Ultra Marathon.
His vehicle was found Monday night at the Coldwater trailhead.
The Cowlitz County Sheriff s Office, Skamania County Sheriff s Office, and members of the military were searching for Yang when hikers in the Mt. Whittier area reported finding a man on a ridge below them.
Yang fell about 200 feet down a steep embankment and died.
