An 80-year old woman and her accomplice have been arrested for allegedly torturing three minors at the Federal Housing Estates 3-3 of Nkwelle Ezunaka in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.
It was gathered that the victims were subjected to physical and emotional torture after being starved for hours.
“The women also inflicted the children with several wounds on their body and left them unconscious,” a source said.
Confirming the arrest, Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed, said the children were rescued and rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
He said the Commissioner of Police, Monday Bala Kuryas, has ordered for a discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident after which suspects would be brought to justice.
