The President, Nana Addo Dankwa has unveiled great golden opportunities to the private sector on the maiden day of his swearing-in.
In his maiden speech, President Nana Addo challenges the private sector to establish the state of the arts industries like the Ekumfi Fruits and Juices factory and produce products which would help cut down on imports in the medium to long term.
The Alliance for Development and Industrialization, (ADI), has learnt that ADB bank, OBTF and KFW have taken up the challenge. Currently, ADB in partnership with OVCF and GIRSAL are supporting various businesses that are related to raw material production and community engagement to meet such a challenge.
FBI investigation revealed vast FirstEnergy-backed political network hidden through lax state disclosure rules
Updated Jan 19, 2021;
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Legal filings and media reports over the past six months gradually have peeled back the layers of a dark-money political network funded by FirstEnergy, the Akron-based utility company.
But because state and federal law don’t require political nonprofits to disclose their donors, the only reason the public knows about anything about the utility’s ties to the expansive constellation of Ohio political causes is the federal investigation into House Bill 6, the nuclear bailout law which prosecutors say passed due to a $61 million bribery scheme, funded by FirstEnergy and its affiliates through secret or difficult to trace political donations.
Ekumfi Fruits and Juices Factory is a Ghanaian owned company
In 2017 President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo declared the ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’ Agenda with the vision to getting the country to depend more on her abilities and resources for the wellbeing of the populace than to depend on foreign donors.
The vision, among others, included a plan to industrialise the country, hinged on a campaign promise of creating a factory in every district, dubbed: the “One District, One Factory” (1D1F) initiative.
This flagship programme is geared towards creating jobs to alleviate poverty and create wealth for all.
Lo and behold, in August 2017, the President performed a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of Ekumfi Fruits and Juices Factory in the Central Region. This pineapple processing factory is the mother of all the new factories under the IDIF initiative.
