Home audio these days have to be two things: smart and sound good. Google s Nest Audio speaker looks smart, acts smart, and sounds terrific. And if you pick up one of these puppies today, you can get it for a better price.
The hardware inside this tower is substantial with a 19mm tweeter and 75mm woofer. It easily pairs with other speakers of its kin and we do note that two Nest Audios sound great in stereo but can play nice with others in a multi-room setup as well. Buy a stereo pair of Nest Audio speakers from Walmart for $170 ($10 off)
On the quest for smart stereo speakers? Two of Google s Nest Audio speakers do the job quite nicely, but you can get them for a better price if you divert your click from the Google Store and head to Walmart.

They usually sell for $99 apiece though the Google Store knocks $20 off the total for two. But you can do better with Walmart and save $30 instead! That s $170 for the package or $85 each. Considering that Google suggests that two Nest Audios perform just as well or better than an older, more expensive Google Home Max speaker, we re all better off.
Google discontinues Home Max speaker, tells you to buy two Nest Audios instead
The Home Max was released in 2017 as Google s top-tier speaker, combining the brains of a Google Home with the massive subwoofers and tweeters more commonly found in hi-fi setups. It has gone on sale for lower and lower prices over the past few months, and now we know why the Home Max is no longer being manufactured.
Google has provided the following statement to Android Police, saying the Home Max is discontinued and that the Nest Audio is the intended successor:
We’ve sold out of Google Home Max and will no longer be manufacturing the device. With the launch of Nest Audio, we’re offering a range of great home audio solutions, particularly with two Nest Audios paired for stereo sound.
