New Delhi, April 16 : Football Olympian Ahmed Hussain, who was a member of the India team which finished fourth at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, died on Friday. He was 89.
Ahmed Hussain made his debut against Bulgaria on December 7, 1956 and went on to make 11 appearances for India. He was also part of the India team, which finished fourth at the 1958 Asian Games in Tokyo.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) president, Praful Patel, in his condolence message said, It is sad to hear that Mr. Ahmed Hussain is no more. I share the grief.

New Delhi, April 10 : The tournament director of the Local Organising Committee for the FIFA U-17 Womens World Cup India 2022 and the AFC Womens Asian Cup India 2022, Roma Khanna, stepped down on Saturday citing personal reasons.
Khanna, who spearheaded the U-17 Women s World Cup bid and was later appointed its tournament director, also successfully led the bid for the AFC Women s Asian Cup to be hosted by India in January.
