Jamshoro CIA centre sealed after six policemen held with 76kg charas - Newspaper

KARACHI: Six policemen of CIA-Jamshoro were arrested here on Sunday after 76 kilograms of charas was found in the police mobile van they were travelling in, officials said on Sunday. Sources said that Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, made the arrest in Clifton and handed over the suspect to the Boat Basin police for further legal action. They said that the police team had brought the drug to Karachi from Jamshoro to sell it to someone in Clifton. According to the FIR (587/2021) registered at Boat Basin police, acting on a tip-off, a police mobile bearing number plate SPF-684, was stopped. Its driver identified himself as constable Mohammed Yaqub and the person sitting with him as constable Ghulam Abbas. Both of them were in plain clothes while four policemen sitting in the rear portion of the mobile van clad in police uniform. They were identified as Aijaz Ali, Rahib Husain, Ahmed Nawaz and Abdul Hameed.

Intezar Ahmed, 19, was allegedly murdered by policemen in the upmarket DHA neighbourhood on January 13, 2018. According to his father Ishtiaq Ahmed, his son had left the house to eat out with his friends but was later brutally murdered. He claimed that his son’s murder was pre-planned. Eight policemen belonging to the Anti-Car Lifting Cell Tariq Rahim, Tariq Mehmood, Azhar Ahsan, Shahid, Fawad Khan, Daniyal, Bilal Rasheed and Ghulam Abbas went to trial on a charge of murder.

Two shot, wounded for offering resistance during mugging bids Five people were injured in separate firing incidents in parts of the city on Sunday. According to police, a 28-year-old man, Yousuf, son of Kashif, was injured in a firing incident that took place in the Madina Colony area in Baldia Town. Police said the man was shot due to putting up resistance during a mugging bid. Yousuf was shifted to the Civil Hospital, Karachi. In another incident, another man, Ghulam Abbas, 28, son of Haq Nawaz, was wounded by muggers when he offered resistance to them within the limits of the Surjani Town police station.
