Sky s Salvage Hunters visit Coniston and Windermere

Salvage Hunters went to Coniston and Windermere in its latest episode, which aired last Wednesday. The Sky programme saw Drew Pritchard, who regularly travels up and down the country to find items to replenish his decorative salvage yard, pay a visit to Coniston’s 500-year-old copper mine and several Lakes antique dealers. Drew and side kick John Tee were full of praise for the area as they were shown entering the county in their van. The pair were certain that they would find some great pieces. Drew said: “One of the most beautiful places in Europe with quite a lot of decent antique shops actually nestled amongst it.

Northumberland County Council draws up plans for £1million revamp of public toilets

Public toilets in Northumberland are set to benefit from a £1million revamp. Monday, 1st March 2021, 4:45 pm The capital investment over the next two years was given the green light at Northumberland County Council’s budget meeting last week. Speaking at a recent coastal summit, Paul Jones, director of local services, said: “That will address backlog maintenance issues as well as redevelopment and improvement for priority sites. We will try to get some of that work done in advance of this summer but the £1million investment will be a longer term programme of activity. Refurbishment works at the public toilets in Seahouses.
