No more mask confusion ! New York drops the mandate on masks for vaccinated residents. The state will officially follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention latest mask guidelines. NBC 13 reports that Governor Cuomo made the announcement earlier today.
Starting Wednesday, fully vaccinated, Capital Region residents will be allowed to return to the activities we enjoyed before the pandemic without wearing a mask. You don t even have to do the socially distant thing anymore but I wouldn t throw your mask away just yet.

Two weeks post-vaccine: did I make the right decision?

Dear girls,
As I sat in the post-vaccine waiting area inside the old Lord & Taylor at Crossgates Mall two weeks ago, I thought about that pivotal moment and the last 14 months.
I saw people who looked like me and people who did not. We had different jobs, different family situations, different interests and hobbies and most certainly different views, but we all had one thing in common. Each and every one of us decided getting the COVID-19 vaccine was right for us.
You know, a small part of me considered not coming for my second shot. I’d read a story earlier in the week about how about 8 percent of people do not receive their follow-up inoculation. In many cases, this is due to a supply issue at pharmacies distributing the vaccine. But, for some people like me they were scared about the side effects.

But the rate at which people are receiving the vaccine is going down, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday. The state is now targeting two groups they suspect are less likely to receive the vaccine: those skeptical of the shot and those who think they don’t need it.
