Two weeks post-vaccine: did I make the right decision?

Dear girls,
As I sat in the post-vaccine waiting area inside the old Lord & Taylor at Crossgates Mall two weeks ago, I thought about that pivotal moment — and the last 14 months.
I saw people who looked like me and people who did not. We had different jobs, different family situations, different interests and hobbies and — most certainly — different views, but we all had one thing in common. Each and every one of us decided getting the COVID-19 vaccine was right for us.
You know, a small part of me considered not coming for my second shot. I’d read a story earlier in the week about how about 8 percent of people do not receive their follow-up inoculation. In many cases, this is due to a supply issue at pharmacies distributing the vaccine. But, for some — people like me — they were scared about the side effects.
