Maine Cheese Festival to be held in Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD The Maine Cheese Festival is to be held Sept. 12 at Manson Park.
Partnering with the Maine Office of Tourism, the Maine Cheese Guild aims to share the art of cheesemaking and spread the love of Maine cheese with their premier event.
The event is to include music, food trucks, a beer tent, and an opportunity to ‘Meet the Makers’ or to put it another way, meet some cute goats.
Beyond the fun and the tasty treats, this year’s festival will also shine a spotlight on the Mainers who are making exceptional cheese with its first Cheese Awards.

Airport terminal evacuated as officials investigate threat

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) Operations are back to normal at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport after the terminal was evacuated as a precaution while a threat was investigated, airport officials said Tuesday.
The airport posted the evacuation notice on Twitter at about 12:45 a.m. It later posted tweets that law enforcement and police dogs conducted security sweeps. Employees and passengers were returning to the building, according to a tweet posted at 1:30 a.m., and airport operations were resuming.
There were no details on the nature of the alleged threat. The airport did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
