The Wadena City Council and interim City Administrator Dave Evans hope to see applications pouring since the Wadena City Administrator position was Monday, May 24.
Gary Weiers, a service team lead at David Drown Associates presented the board with the next steps in the recruitment process for the next city administrator during a special city council meeting Thursday, May 20. DDA was selected to help the city hire the next administrator as they do work in executive recruitment.
Candidates have four weeks, or until June 21, to submit their applications.
Weiers primarily wanted council members to review the job description and what the community had to offer. They made suggestions about the elementary school being remodeled, a new hospital being built and a new Hwy 10 freshly completed in town as attractive features.

The City of Wadena held their annual Board of Review meeting Thursday, April 22.
While acting on recommendations from the Wadena County Assessor s Office took about 5 minutes, conversations on the speed of home sales and increasing property values brought the most conversation in the short public meeting.
The assessor’s office heard of a recent sale of 6 acres of forested land on the Crow Wing River going for $130,000, with no developments. That was just a small look into how purchases are changing in this rural area.

A temporary site for dogs being fostered out of the Let Love Live MN non-profit is setup at this location at 204 Jefferson Street N., in Wadena.

A new kennel license for Let Love Live MN has been approved by Wadena City Council members in a commercial building at 204 Jefferson Street N.
The building may be better known as the former Medicine Shoppe in Wadena. It is now a temporary holding area for dogs transitioning to foster homes.
