TOURISM-CRUISE
The co-owner of the Burg Steakhouse in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, says a tourist came in for lunch, and apparently enjoyed his meal because he came back for dinner, too. He had a filet mignon and crab cakes, a Shirley Temple, and a scoop of ice cream. His bill came to $59, and he rounded it up a little with the tip: $1,000, which he asked to be spread among the entire staff. He also paid the tab at a couple of other tables. The man asked to remain anonymous, but said he was terminally ill and spending the rest of his days paying it forward.

A devoted 79-year-old husband visited a Canadian beauty school last month to get lessons to help his wife, who can no longer get ready by herself partly due to failing eyesight. The man walked into Delmar College of Hair and Esthetics in Alberta on April 22nd and told director Carrie Hannah that he wanted to learn how to use the curling wand. His wife s vision was failing and she kept burning herself as a result, so he wanted some tips. The man, who wants to remain anonymous, was paired with a student and mannequin and was taught how to operate the curling wand and protect his wife s skin. The couple have both visited the school since to express their gratitude. True love.

Michele Stilwell’s daughter ordered an Uber to take her mother to her St. Petersburg home from an event in Tampa. The woman slept for the first 20 minutes or so, but Stilwell suddenly woke up and started strangling the driver from the back seat. She screamed, “Die!” The 22-year-old driver yelled back, “I’m just your Uber driver!” He didn’t fight back. He later told police, “I have two sisters and I was raised to never put my hands on a female.” Once he was able to pull over, various witnesses took video and photos of the attack, which continued for several minutes. The driver suffered various injuries, including some missing flesh on his neck: Stilwell allegedly bit it off. She was arrested. Her husband would later say his wife doesn’t remember what she did.

American Girl Scout Cookies
Missing out on Thin Mints in the pandemic? A Google sister company is using drones to deliver Girl Scout cookies to people’s doorsteps in a Virginia community. The town of Christiansburg, Virginia, has been a testing ground for commercial delivery drones operated by Wing, a subsidiary of Google’s corporate parent Alphabet. Now the company is adding the iconic boxed cookies to the typical drone deliveries of drugstore products, locally-made pastries, tacos and cold brew coffees. Wing has been hauling these items and more to a thinly populated area of residential subdivisions since 2019. Wing said it began talking to local Girl Scout troops because they’ve been having a harder time selling cookies during the pandemic, when fewer people are out and about.
