The legislative session is a 120-day grind. Lawmakers, staff and advocates participate in hundreds of meetings, committee hearings and work sessions. Legislators work earnestly across the aisle to find compromise on important legislation. Such was the case for Senate Bill 391, which passed overwhelmingly and with bipartisan support. The bill expanded access to oral health for thousands of Nevadans and included programs such as teledentistry and dental emergency response. The bill was heard, workshopped and improved before earning passage with more than two-thirds of the Assembly and unanimous support by the Senate.
