FARGO (KFGO) – The Sanford Fargo Marathon has been sold. Rugged Races has purchased the marathon from founder Mark Knutson.
The company, with offices in Chicago and Boston, says it doesn’t plan to change any aspects of the marathon and will help streamline operations, improve quality and attract more runners. Knutson will remain as race director. Rugged Races runs marathons and other events around the country.
The marathon started in 2005 with about 2,600 people taking part. Five years later, there were nearly 20,000 participants.
Next year’s marathon is scheduled for May 9. ); } return false;
Portland church s memorial in honor of immigrants vandalized
The crosses on the lawn of Augustana Lutheran Church are in memory of hundreds of people who died crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in 2019 Author: Christelle Koumoué (KGW) Updated: 8:59 AM PST February 28, 2021
PORTLAND, Ore. For five months hundreds of crosses have stood on the lawn of Augustana Lutheran church in Northeast Portland, in memory of the hundreds of people who died crossing the border in 2019.
Thursday morning church leaders found the crosses knocked over, broken with hateful messages.
The church leader, Reverend Mark Knutson wants to know who did it. Anybody out there that has to do something anonymously, come out of the shadows, speak, talk, said Reverend Knutson. Don t do vandalism and don t stand with hate. Hate is never the answer, especially against people who are vulnerable, seeking a home.
