GURUGRAM: A 22-year-old woman from Delhi was lured into a forested area by a man who had promised to introduce her to his parents and allegedly raped by 25 of his friends through the night and next morning.
The woman, who approached police nine days later after she had gained enough strength, said in her complaint that she had met a man named Sagar (23) on Facebook in January this year and exchanged numbers with him. The woman works as a domestic staffer in Delhi and has been staying in the capital for the past four years.
After months of talking over the phone, Sagar allegedly proposed marriage to the woman and told her he would like to introduce her to his parents in Palwal’s Hodal village. He insisted that the woman come to Hodal and talk to his parents directly.
Gurgaon: A day after the state government put a cap on ambulance rates and directed Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) to take punitive action against those charging extra to ferry patients, private operators in the city stopped their services on Tuesday.
The Private Ambulance Welfare Association, Gurgaon, submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner’s office in Gurgaon on Tuesday mentioning their inability to run their vehicles as per the rates fixed.
“The government has said it will cancel driving licences and registrations of vehicles if operators charge more than the prescribed rate. So, we have decided to keep our ambulances parked,” said the president of Private Ambulance Welfare Association, Gurgaon, Rajesh Yadav, adding that they expect the government to come up with a revised rate.

GURUGRAM: SGT Hospital, which is supposed to become the largest Covid facility in Gurugram with the government last week announcing a ramp-up to 500 beds, is not even equipped to admit patients to its current capacity of 100.
The hospital is at present treating only 38 patients because it does not have enough oxygen or infrastructure to admit any more. Of the 100 beds it’s supposed to have, only 60 are operational. But since there is no oxygen support to go beyond 38 patients, the 22 other beds are lying unused at a time when hospitals are overwhelmed and Covid patients are waiting days but are still unable to get admissions.
