Halo: The Master Chief Collection Insider sessions, and, as usual, it s an interesting set of features being tested. With Season 7 on the horizon, the studio is testing the new customization content, plus upgrades to
Halo: Combat Evolved, further changes to the incoming
Halo Online maps, and more.
Starting off, the latest graphics improvements to
Combat Evolved aims to bring its divisive Classic mode visuals from the PC port back to the levels of the original Xbox release. This involves changes to both the campaign and multiplayer, with the studio altering shaders, effects, character models, and other areas. We will probably get to see these enhancements in more detail when the changes are ready to be pushed to the public.
The first
Halo: The Master Chief Collection Insider test of the year is now active, bringing forth the recently promised flight for Insiders to test before the content is pushed out to everyone. This latest Insider session, version 1.2159.0.0, is now live for Xbox console players as well as PC players across Steam and Microsoft Store.
Insiders will find
Halo 3 and
Reach being the testbeds in this flight and 343 Industries is looking for feedback on the new content, the biggest of which is easily the two fresh maps hitting
Halo 3. Titled Waterfall and Edge, these head over from the now-defunct
Halo Online project.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection last had an insider flight in October 2020 where
Halo 4 was being prepped for its eventual PC release. After a small break, 343 Industries is now almost ready to start the testing process back up, and in its latest
Halo community update blog post, the studio revealed what s in store for fans.
The long-promised Custom Game Browser is finally incoming with this Insider build if everything goes to plan, letting players create public custom matches that others can join through a browser without going through the matchmaking system. As the feature s first image displays above, the host can select how many players are in the session, the region, variants to customize the session, and enable what looks to be team swapping support.
343 Industries will soon start to push out Insider builds for the Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The next one is coming with a multiplayer game browser, FOV sliders for Xbox One, and much more.
