These volunteers were going around asking for donations for the construction of a new building for the gurudwara. A few philanthropists and devotees at Kalyan Nagar had already given money to these ‘volunteers’. “The devotees informed us only after giving money to people who claimed to work for Guru Singh Sabha. We never encourage and authorise people to collect donations by going door to door. Collecting donations is against our principles, and it is up to the devotees to donate when they visit the gurudwara,’’ said Kuldeep Singh, general secretary, Sri Guru Singh Sabha.
