They had begun a sit-down demonstration when members of law enforcement came on the scene. Gardai deployed around 4am to break up picket at Blanchardstown #Debenhams & allow 4 trucks remove stock in a level 5 lockdown. Women/ men, including myself, were carried off by about 25 gardai. Downton Abbey star Peter Egan says heart is broken after wife Myra s tragic death

Dublin s Q102 By Ellen Smith (via Getty/Facebook-Peter Egan) Downton Abbey star Peter Egan has revealed that his heart is broken, following the tragic death of his wife of 49 years, Myra. Actress Myra Egan, who was famed for playing Lady Adrasta in Doctor Who, tragically lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday.  Taking to social media with an emotional post, Peter, who played Marquess of Flintshire in Downton Abbey, described Myra as his friend and soulmate. He writes This is the saddest post I will ever have to make. My wonderful wife Myra, my friend & soulmate lost her battle with cancer at 1.30am on Tuesday. This message is for all her followers on her FB & Twitter ⁦@EganMyra.⁩ She was the most amazing human being. My heart is broken.

Workers now have right to disconnect

Dublin s Q102 By Alison O Reilly The Tanaiste has signed a new code of conduct, which is a boost to employees. Workers will be able to take their employer to the Workplace Relations Commission for frequently contacting them outside of working hours. Tánaiste Leo Varadkar has signed a new code giving people the right to disconnect. He s also started a consultation on proposed new laws giving people a right to request to work from home. Leo Varadkar says as of today people have new rights:   From today, all employees have the right to disconnect from work, meaning they no longer have to routinely answer work calls, texts, emails outside working hours. The Taoiseach has also spoken with Leader of the House Nancy Pelosi, stressing the importance of America s support for the Good Friday Agreement.
