Two truck crash blocks Bruce Highway

Premium Content UPDATE 4.50PM: The Bruce Highway remains blocked in both directions after a two truck crash. A Queensland Police Services spokesman confirmed both lanes were blocked just north of the Waverley Creek rest area, with no indication of when the road would reopen. INITIAL: Emergency services are responding to reports two trucks have collided on the Bruce Highway between Rockhampton and Mackay. Three Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews as well as Queensland Ambulance, Queensland Police and a Marlborough SES crew are responding to the scene at St Lawrence, north of the Waverley Creek rest area. The incident occurred just after 3pm and the first crew on scene reported one semi had jack-knifed in the middle of the road.

Stolen vehicle found crashed after allegedly evading police

Premium Content Subscriber only An alleged stolen vehicle was found crashed in North Rockhampton early Wednesday morning after it was allegedly involved in a hit and run and evade police incident about three hours prior. The vehicle was allegedly stolen from a residence in Park Avenue at 3.40am on Tuesday. According to a Queensland Police Services spokeswoman, the vehicle had allegedly evaded police at 11pm on Tuesday. The spokeswoman said the vehicle was also involved in an alleged hit and run incident that same day. She confirmed it was not a person that was struck. She said no persons were located at the scene of the crash, with no injuries reported.

Police target verbally abusive youths at shopping centre

Premium Content Subscriber only IPSWICH police are preparing to launch a long-term operation in a bid to end anti-social behaviour at a local shopping complex. Shopkeepers and other business owners trading from the Rededge Shopping Centre in Goodna claim they are regularly subjected to verbal abuse from juveniles in their early teens loitering in the complex. An employee at one of the shops told the Queensland Times she had seen teenagers hanging around and pestering people for money. A Queensland Police Services spokeswoman confirmed police had received a number of complaints in recent months relating to the anti-social behaviour at the shopping centre.
