Timothy Cowan, 59, of Fern Bank, Cockermouth was sentenced on Monday at Carlisle Crown Court. Cowan pleaded guilty to causing actual bodily harm at an earlier hearing. The sentence follows an incident that occurred in November 2020 in which Cowan assaulted the woman causing broken ribs along with other injuries.
