The National Democratic Alliance has shifted its focus towards government formation after All India N. R Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party secured majority to form the next government in the 30-member Legislative Assembly
As per the final results declared by the Election Commission of India, AINRC won 10 seats and BJP 6 after the final rounds of counting which continued till late in the night on Sunday. Together, both the parties reached the figure of 16 to cross the halfway mark.
AINRC bagged nine seats while its junior partner BJP won three and the parties were leading in a seat each. Congress won two seats and it partner DMK three while leading in one seat.

The All India NR Congress has bagged nine seats while the BJP won three and the NDA allies are leading on one seat each. The DMK has won three seats and is leading on one seat, while Congress has won two seats.
The Congress tied up with DMK, the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), the CPM, the CPI and other small parties, while NR Congress was almost arm-twisted into an alliance with the BJP and the AIADMK.
The Congress has failed to regain its last bastion in the South as the NR Congress and its alliance partner, the BJP, were comfortably in the lead on Sunday and are poised to form the government in the erstwhile French colony of Puducherry.
