Resurfacing work on Horseshoe Road, Hellers Church Road, and Route 772 in Lancaster County to begin next week Keith Schweigert © Provided by WPMT Harrisburg A resurfacing project on Horseshoe Road, Hellers Church Road and Route 772 in East Lampeter, Upper Leacock and Leacock townships in Lancaster County is set to begin next week, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The project affects Horseshoe Road from Route 340 (Old Philadelphia Pike) in East Lampeter Township to the intersection with Hellers Church Road, then Hellers Church Road from the intersection with Horseshoe Road to Route 23 (West Main Street) in Upper Leacock Township.  Work also will be performed on Route 772 (Newport Road) from Centerville Road to Route 340 in Leacock Township, PennDOT said.

The four burglaries were reported between 6 and 9 a.m. on May 11. Police said the burglaries were of vehicles that were left unlocked. The first was reported at 6:44 a.m. on Old Oak Road, according to police, with the victim stating that someone entered an unlocked Jeep Compass at some point overnight. A wallet had been taken which contained bank cards and identification, police said, and one of the cards had already been used at a gas station in Stamford earlier that morning.

Water at the hand-wash sink does not have adequate pressure during inspection. Food employee did not follow proper hand-washing procedure. Single-use towel not available.

CREEDMOOR — A donation from one of the co-founders of one of the world’s wealthiest video-game companies has enabled the Tar River Land Conservatory to increase the size of a nature preserve near Creedmoor by more than 50%. Conservancy officials announced recently that their organization had received 83 acres in the Swift Creek area and “a significant financial contribution” from Mark and Tara Rein. Mark Rein is co-founder and vice president of Epic Games, the Cary software house that makes and publishes Fortnite, the gaming sensation whose success over the past few years has helped push the company’s value to almost $29 billion.
