Henderson County (Jun 5, 2021) - LAUREL PARK The Friends of Laurel Park will host Music in the Park today with Dashboard Blue performing at Jump Off Rock from 5 to 8 p.m. Bring a picnic (beer and wine permitted) and dance to the tunes.
The spring is believed to be the work of two early developers from Jacksonville, Florida.
“They created the Echo Mountain subdivision,” said Town Council member Paul Hansen. It was the first subdivision up the mountain after town founder W.A. Smith developed springs, lakes and other amenities in lower Laurel Park.
John H. Patterson built the large home that became the Echo Mountain Inn as a summer residence around 1896. The property has changed hands numerous times since Patterson built his summer retreat, serving as a tea room, a camp for girls and, since 1935, an inn. The Echo Mountain subdivision came 16 years after Patterson first arrived, when he and a partner named Ives laid out the lots.

LoveHendo returns: Lots to do for all ages in downtown Hendersonville May 8
May 8 will be a busy day in downtown Hendersonville with the kickoff of this year s LoveHendo Saturdays and the Hendersonville Farmers Market, in addition to a balloon festival, the Jump Off Rock Half Marathon and 10K and shows at the Center for Arts & Entertainment.
The community is invited to experience outdoor shopping and entertainment downtown while practicing social distancing.

The event is held the second Saturday of each month from May through August and October through December. There will be a different theme or partnering event each Saturday.
