Eye of the Child spokesperson Memory Chisenga
A group of Child Rights Organizations has called on the Ministry of Justice through the Director of Prosecution to expedite the prosecution of a Dutch national Wim Akster accused of human trafficking and sexual abuse.
According to a joint statement released on Friday by the child rights organizations, Akster, former employee of Timotheos Foundation was arrested in April 2020 on allegations of trafficking and sexually molesting six students and three young men who were at the time beneficiaries of Timotheos scholarships and bursaries.
“There is reasonable belief that the accused person used his power as Finance Director at Timotheos to entice and abuse the children,” read part of the statement.

European Parliament Attacks Poland’s ‘Charters of Family Rights’
12 Mar 2021
ROME The European Parliament (EP) has attacked Poland over its “Regional Charters of Family Rights,” asserting that they represent “discrimination and attacks against the LGBTIQ community.”
Charters that define marriage as the union of one man and one woman “use a very narrow definition of the family,” the EP stated in a formal resolution Thursday declaring the European Union (EU) an “LGBTIQ Freedom Zone.”
Adopting a traditional understanding of marriage and family is an assault on “equality,” the EP insisted, noting “LGBTIQ rights are human rights” and “the right to equal treatment and non-discrimination is a fundamental right enshrined in the EU Treaties and in the Charter, and should be fully respected.”
