Alberta landlord pays former tenant $20,000 in out of court settlement
Samantha Barnes, a single mother with young twins, said her stay in a cold and drafty apartment in Lethbridge, Alta., was horrible, as she and her children shivered through the winter months without adequate heat and windows that didn t stop the cool wind from blowing in.

Samantha Barnes lived at Westwood apartments in Lethbridge, Alta., owned and managed by Avenue Living between Sept. 2017 and May, 2018. The company agreed to a $20,000 settlement with Barnes, but denies it did anything wrong during her tenancy. (Google)
