Guns N’ Roses finally arrived in Blimpville. They were scheduled to be here about four years earlier. That was in August of 1988 as the openers for Aerosmith. But, that didn’t happen. G N R were so huge by the time that summer rolled around, they started headlining and were replaced by a new Boston band called
Guns N’ Roses made it right with their dedicated fans, when they played their only Portland show ever on March 8, 1993. It was of course a
sold-out night at the
Skin N’ Bones Tour.
And as if Axl, Slash, and Duff weren’t enough, the legendary
HOLLAND In an effort to ensure local educators can get vaccinated, Ottawa County is dedicating a portion of its weekly COVID-19 vaccine shipments for PK-12 educators.
Vaccines remain in short supply for the county, but the Ottawa County Department of Public Health will use 25 percent of its weekly shipment for educators, with the other 75 percent continuing to go toward those age 65 and older.
While nearly all local schools reopened for in-person learning at the start of the school year, and the CDC says vaccines aren’t required for schools across the country to reopen, vaccines are a tool to help schools stay open and stay safe.
Fredrick Mabamba
A Chitungwiza land baron, Dr Fredrick Mabamba of United Westand Housing Cooperative has been arrested by the anti-corruption hawks today.
Mabamba was arrested on allegations related to illegal parcelling out of residential stands all over Chitungwiza.
According to police sources, he was apprehended at his Town Centre offices following a witch-hunting visit by a high powered Government delegation that toured Chitungwiza and Budiriro 5B last weekend.
Last year Mabamba caused a stir after trying to block Chitungwiza Municipality from constructing its Civic Centre on State land claiming the land belonged to him.
Senior health and safety business partner Fleur Robertson added: “The injured person is making a good recovery and is due back at work any day.” It was the only recordable incident – one which requires medical treatment or results in lost time – during the period. The person suffered minor injuries and was off work for four days, the council said in an emailed response to questions. “Safety always comes first. We’re treating this incident very seriously. Another incident - also, incidentally, on December 14 - was an electric shock to a contractor while working on a switchboard in the Fernery at Pukekura Park.
